Hi Dimitri, I got some test results for you.
I built the setup as described (two servers with LSI 9200-8e cards, One Supermicro 847E26-RJBOD1, connected expander 1 to server 1 and expander 2 to server 2). When I plug in a SAS disk both servers see the disk at the same time :) I can create MD sets on server 1, do a mdadm -S /dev/mdX on server 1 and a mdadm -A /dev/mdX on server 2 without any problem. When using SATA disks the setup DOESN'T work, only expander 1 (server 1) is able to see the disk. Conclusion, it works but you HAVE to use dual ported (SAS) disks. PS. Maybe SATA disks work when using active-active interposers as described in this article: http://serialstoragewire.net/Articles/2007_07/developer24.html Kind regards, Caspar Smit 2012/7/18 Dimitri Maziuk <[email protected]>: > On 7/18/2012 2:52 AM, Caspar Smit wrote: >> Hi Dimitri, >> >> I will be getting a Supermicro 847E26-RJBOD1 for testing next week from >> supermicro. We have a "server" version of it w/ 36 drives and a 9260 (or > 70? -- internal ports only) card. Centos 6 works fine on it. > > Thanks, > Dima > _______________________________________________ > Linux-HA mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.linux-ha.org/mailman/listinfo/linux-ha > See also: http://linux-ha.org/ReportingProblems _______________________________________________ Linux-HA mailing list [email protected] http://lists.linux-ha.org/mailman/listinfo/linux-ha See also: http://linux-ha.org/ReportingProblems
