The reason can be found in the ax25-doc documentation package
<ftp://ftp.hes.iki.fi/pub/ham/linux/ax25/ax25-doc-1.0.tar.gz> in the file
extended-ax25.ps. See the chapter "Resequencing" starting at page 4. The
paper is written by Rob so I can only assume that in NET-CHL you _can_ set
the window size larger than 63 even though it is not recommended. 

I however fail to see why asymmetric window sizes would cause any
problems. Unless of course you are bitten by the resequencing ambiquity...

BTW. Jose, it's 63 _frames_, not bytes or kbytes. Nothing to do with the
TCP window size option in Linux.
