Maybe. Linux needs to be able to ident the client it's talking to. Check
the ping time, and if that's reasonable, then try a telnet session to the
linux machine from the dos box. If it takes awhile to connect, it's
probably because it's seeking an ident packet from the dos box to verify
the user. This isn't a bug, it is a feature. Once it connects tho, it
shouldn't be a problem. Also, check the hosts file on the linyux bx and
make sure it has all the other ethernet hostnames in it.
