Hi All,
When connected to our XFBB BBS and getting a long list I'm (and
users also) disconnected after a period of time. The reason
why is unsure because I've tried a lot of different parameters,
in the /proc/sys/net{ax25|netrom} directory but nothing seems to
work well.
The BBS PC is running Linux kernel 2.0.36 with ax25-utils-2.1.42a.
There are no patches installed. The XFBB version is 7.00g21.
Users must connect PI1HGL first which is (still) a DOS Netchl
node and worked well when FBB was running with DOS FBB 7.00.
Both PC's are connected via Ethernet using BPQ. After connecting
the node (PI1HGL) users may connect the BBS (PI8HGL) by simply
typing C PI8HGL. The connection is made by Netrom via BPQ (over
Ethernet).
When starting a forward between PI8HGL and PE1NMB four packets,
window size is 4 in port.sys at PE1NMB, are transmitted first
and after sometime only one packet is transmitted instead of 4.
The connection is by 9k6 radio and seems to be could enough to
send a window size of 4.
Is there anybody out there who could advise me what the best
parameters are for Netrom (and AX25).? Or even better how a
simple test can be done to get these parameters fixed.
Best wishes, Erwin (pe1nmb)
