I am beginner in Linux, and have some problems with sm device.
I use for packet my ESS866 sound card, and it works good under DOS,
but i don't know how to create sm[0-3] devices in /dev in my Slackware
3.6.
I start Linux by loadlin from DOS after sound init.
Tell me please, where can i get information manuals or examples about
installation and test of soundmodem. In HOW-TO's i find only about sm,
but
nothing how to create it. Also i recompile kernel with soundmodem
support,
but possible some in my .config is wrong. Can i find in Internet good
.config for soundmodem to recompile kernel again ?
Are linux-hams for beginners areas in Internet ?
