Happy to say I'm a heck of a long way from understanding the
details of this great Data Base program, but now I can make it do simple
things. Here is what happened.

Several guys sent me good information. This got me to the point I
bought an SQL Handbook but it's not here yet. I stumbled onto a lot of
good information that came with my Red Hat 5.2 loading of this software. I
used the html format to read a lot of it and then printed out the Tutorial
and have been using that to learn more.

I learned that I can make ANY local login capable of using the
software by login to the postgres and as the super user I made 2 user
login capable users with 'createuser karl' which made my user login karl a
postgres user. Now I'n doing the tutorial in karl.

I have read in a New Class as a file I made with joe. This is the
way to do it. So progress is being made and postgres is much less a
mystery now.

Best wishes
