You dont have "mkiss" support compiled into your kernel or if its compiled
as a module, the module is not loaded.
It has nothing to do with "slip" as mentioned by someone else.

I would not say a mtter of intelligence, its a mixture of many factors, the
largest being many people dont know that there has been a transistion in
library's, which are unfortunatly not completely backwards compatable.
