Hello to the list,
I always have updated my Slackware 3.3 by hand, from 2.0.30 to 2.0.36
without a problem.
Now i would like to give a try to the 2.2-pre series.
I have updated almost anything mentionned in the Documentation/Changes
file.
My machine is now running 2.2-pre9 kernel, libc.5.4.46, GCC-2.7.2.3 and
nettools-1.49 (plus some other new components).
When i tried to launch my rc.a25 i got the following error :
/bin/setserial /dev/ttyS2 uart none
/usr/sbin/sethdlc -p -i bcsf0 mode "ser12*" io 0x3e8 irq 5
/usr/sbin/sethdlc: Version 0.5; (C) 1996-1997 by Thomas Sailer
HB9JNX/AE4WA
/usr/sbin/sethdlc: Error Socket type not supported (94), cannot open bcsf0
As my /etc/conf.modules has been updated for the new Baycom module (alias
bcsf0 baycom_ser_fdx) and that a "modprobe baycom_ser_fdx" didn't cure, i
remembered that the ax25-utils needed to be recompiled. (The other modules
seem to work Ok with kmod/rmmod)
The problem is that the ax25-utils won't compile, and here's the error i
get :
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/ax25-utils-2.1.42a/hdlcutil'
gcc -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -I/usr/X11R6/include -c hdrvcomm.c
hdrvcomm.c: In function `hdrvc_init':
hdrvcomm.c:184: `ETH_P_AX25' undeclared (first use this function)
hdrvcomm.c:184: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
hdrvcomm.c:184: for each function it appears in.)
make[1]: *** [hdrvcomm.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/ax25-utils-2.1.42a/hdlcutil'
make: *** [all] Error 2
root@f5kow:/usr/src/ax25-utils-2.1.42a#
As this is not libc6 related and that i never had this error before, i
don't know where to look now !
I hope someone knows the fix or the misconfigured stuff at my site ! :-)
Thanks for your attention.
