Not that you are suggesting so, but...
With a port to native Linux, it opens the software for further
development, enhancement and usage. It also benefits the software
because of Linux's stability. 

WINE _may_ run some Windows programs, but it is still considered ALPHA.
Leaving software as Windows somewhat defeats the purpose of having the
benefits of Linux in the first place, in my opinion.
