Linux kernel 2.2.0 is a huge improvement over the earlier 2.0 series. The
console is just downright fast, and it's handling my cpu, ide and pci bus,
hard drive, and loads of other things a lot better. Im throughly impressed
with it.
The fact that it has some bugs should be expected as with all new
software. This stuff *still* is less buggy, more reliable, and faster than
even the most mature MS stuff. The more of us that run it and report our
problems, the faster it gets fixed.
I'd like to voice my support for the guys who are working on the kernel
space 2.2.0 ham stuff. They've done a heck of a job so far, and i cant
imagine them letting 2.2.0 come out with known serious problems.
As an admin i have backup routes in case i encounter problems, but i still
continue to support ongoing work on my machines.
