So ... in my infinite wisdom I have decided to keep with the name mtrack
for my satellite tracking package.

I got a copy of Lesstif last night and built it, it looks very good.

I therefore intend to release the basic program next week (floppy discs
permitting) which was written for Motif. I will check it out for Lesstif
compatibility and modify it until it works OK with it, if there are any
problems. I'll update the element sets and add the GPL and other stuff
and release it.

Then, I will change it to use GTK. Add the Sun and Moon (I hope), add
multiple simultaneous satellites and a KCT interface. Then I'll release
that, but expect a longer waiting time for this version :-)

I hope that by releasing the Motif version, people will be able to look
at it and feed back any fixes (non Motif ones) to me for use in the GTK
version. The people who want to make a non GUI version can use this as
the base version and I can then synchronise with them to allow for much
common code. Does that sound OK ?

Please note that the file formats between the Lesstif and GTK versions
will be different, but I'll include a program to convert the satellite
data to the new format. The GTK format will be text based and more flexible
whereas the Motif version uses binary data. Of course I may get itchy fingers
and modify the Lesstif version to use the new format before release !

What shall I do on Tuesday night ... rewrite Linux in INTERCAL and TECO I think.
