Suggestions please!:

ax25-utils installed. AX25 stuff built in kernel (Redhat v5.2)
Net-tools installed. 'axports' configured ok , I think.
Kissattach gives the following result:

        AX.25 port 2 bound to ax0

So far so good.

[root@reica /]# call 2 vk4alj
GW4PTS AX.25 Connect v1.11
Trying...
connect: Connection timed out
[root@reica /]#

This is as far as it goes. 'call' seems to be attempting to access the
TNC (pk88 in KISS mode 9600 baud - serial port 2 (3e8 in my case) set to
9600)
The 'STA' led goes 'on and off' every 10 secs or so but the transmitter
is not being keyed, 'Send' led stays off.

The pk88 functions normally in both Kiss and Normal mode with TPK and
WNOS in win 95.

Where do I go wrong or where have I slipped up?

Rein.

ps. Forgot to mention: On booting I get the mesg 'can't locate module
net-pf-5' Does this has a bearing on the subject? I have compiled all
ax25 stuff into the kernel, NOT as modules.
