Greetings OM's:
Have been reading both psk31 reflectors for several weeks now and
note that all discussions are about Peters very fine psk31sbw program
which I have receiving under Win3.1 with my Logitech Soundman 16
card, using the default setup from the Soundman disk..
I cannot run Windows for prolonged times due to eye trouble so I
compiled dl9rdz's psk31 program and it runs with that sound card but
I cannot get it to receive.. Have tried injecting a 1000 Hz sine wave
into both the line and mic inputs, at proper levels, and can hear the
pure tone at the output jack but the program does not respond or show
any activity at the lower left hand corner indicator.. The card is
working because I can use the "cat" command to record and playback a
file.
I have made sure the parameters of ioport, irq and dma under Linux,
duplicates the exact same parameters as Dos/Win.. Two mixer programs
report the levels are OK and I can transmit, or, at least, can hear
the warbling tone and idle tone at the cards output when going into
transmit mode.. I further note that ctrl-R stops the transmission but
the TX indicator does not change to RX until I hit another key,
either the up or down arrow..
I am stumped as to why the program does not "hear." Perhaps rdz's
program will merely not work correctly with this particular card,
therefore the reason for this post, to see if I can get some input,
suggestions, whatever.. I've read the docs and FAQ's and looked at
the source for clues to no avail. I'm beginning to suspect, since the
card is SB8 at the 'normal' SoundBlaster parameters and PAS16 for 16
bit, that rdz's program is thrown a curve by that - although why does
psk31sbw work then??
Appreciate and vy 73,
