Here is some more information about the colours problem with the
preferences window. My /usr/local/mtrack/mtrackrc says

Then as a normal user I ran mtrack and just hit Save in Edit -> Preferences.
My new ~/.mtrackrc says

Here the longitude has also changed. mtrack changes the point on the
screen immediately after closing the preferences window, too.
I don't think this happened in 0.2b, I can check if that would help.
