The devil is in details. I must 'reverse' the patch suggested by Hans-Peter Zorn. Yes, that patch seems to solve the 'oops' generated by downing an ax25 interface, *BUT* every time an ax25 connection is cleared (at user level) a stale definition in the kernel keeps the ax25 connection in a 'disconnected' state. So you can't connect that station anymore, and the system needs to be rebooted. Hans Peter, try this sequence: 1 - Connect a station, like 'call portx xx0xx' 2 - Disconnect the station cleanly 3 - cat /proc/net/ax25 : The connection is not cleared! 4 - Try to reconnect the station: you can't. I should recompile the 'clean' 2.2.9 kernel. Looing for another solution of the 'kernel panic'. IZ0BBZ - Stefano Corti Internet mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] AX25 mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
