ax port without ax ifc

Hi,
I would like to set up an axport for my applications, so I can connect
to my netrom daemon, and telnet from there.
I have only an ethernet card.
I have fialed to do so, any suggestions?
Kernel 2.2.9 and 2.1.42 utils on debian/potato.
