Michael, it depends which version of Pactor you have. I have the
MFJ TNC that includes Pactor-1. But that version of Pactor does not
include a "kiss" mode. So I use it from Linux with the terminal program
minicom. It works fine.

        I'm not sure if the AEA 232 or Pactor-2 tnc's have a kiss mode. If
they do, then you can connect to it with kissattach just like any TNC.
