I got the ax25 and netrom and kiss drivers loaded in the kernel
for Red Hat 6. Then I got the libax25 and apps and tools from CSmall
compiled and installed. I learned you MUST install the X11 development for
these CSmall tools to compile. Of course you must have Packet sockets or
it will not work.

Well got it all set up with the same config files and start bash
file I use on Red Hat 5.2 now. When I booted it looked good. Ps -A showed
that kissattach and netromd and ax5d were all running. I did a ifconfig
and saw that all the ax25 and netrom was set up properly. I looked in
/proc/net/ and saw the usual files that are made by the ax25-util.

So I tried "call" to connect to a nearby node. It looked normal
and it got to the point of saying "Trying" but it never called. I watched
my tnc and it was quiet. After a node broadcast I rechecked /proc/net and
there was nothing in the files.

Best wishes
