Richard,

as soon as you're staying more then three month here in Germany,
you'll have to apply for a "true" german licence (with your own german
callsign).  But that's should be not too much paperwork.

Unfortunately I'm not living in the munich area at all, but if you
want me to, I can help you getting your license (i.e. getting the
correct form and asking the German PTT, how all this works, etc.).
