Not one answer to my request for help with my Routing >problem. hmmmmmmm Perhaps because your setup sounds a bit confoluted and did not have a complete description. Here are a few questions that come to mind, but no instant answers. 1.) How are the Win98 box and the Linux/Jnos box connected, Ethernet? 2.) What is the nature of your Internet connection? Win98 dialup or an external router of some kind? If the latter, what is it's IP address? 3.) If IP for Win98 of 216.116.160.53 came from your ISP, where did 206.41.34.244 for Linux come from? Those two addresses are from different networks and will not communicate with each other unless another router is involved. I bet that Linux (kernel) and win98 cannot ping each other either. 4.) Include a copy of the routing table from the Win98 box. (command> route print) 5.) The Linux routing table appears incomplete. The only routes listed are /32, no network routes seem to be there. Not even 206.41.34 or 216.116.160. 6.) The Linux default route is to 206.41.34.1. What is that and can you ping it? I doubt that you can, since there is no Linux route to it. I'm on family vacation and traveling, so no guarantees of future response time, but maybe those questions will help. -Dave ======================================================== Dave Gingrich, K9DC E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Indianapolis, Indiana [EMAIL PROTECTED] ========================================================
