Folks,

I am having trouble with getting IPIP working on the gateway oanet.org.pe /
oanet.ampr.org.

I HAVE NOT put encap.txt on the machine (very limited h/d resources made this
seem undesirable) and instead route all 44. packets via mirrorshades
(128.54.16.18) . My understanding is that this SHOULD work - correct me if I'm
wrong on this.

44.0.0.0 128.54.16.18 255.0.0.0 UG 512 0 0 tunl0

The tunnel is configured as per AX-HOWTO ...

tunl0 Link encap:IPIP Tunnel HWaddr
          inet addr:44.171.32.6 Bcast:44.255.255.255 Mask:255.0.0.0
          UP RUNNING NOARP MTU:1024 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:3836 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 coll:0

However: I have 2 problems.

1) I can only talk to some gateways, and not others. My entry in the
fullers.net has been there for months so I doubt it is a propogation issue
... An example of one I can talk to is ve7tsi.ampr.org

e.g. ping works and rec'd as follows (shown from tcpdump):
(ping of 44.171.32.6 from ve7tsi.ampr.org)

17:22:24.000000 ve7tsi.ocis.net > oanet.org.pe: ip-proto-4 32
17:22:24.000000 ve7tsi.ocis.net > oanet.org.pe: ip-proto-4 32

For other gatways, if I log onto the remote gateway (by other routes) and try
to ping my gateway: I can see no incoming packets (with tcpdump) as if they are
not routing to me correctly. (e.g k2mf.ampr.org, vk2pk.ampr.org, ...)

2) Even for gatways that can reach me, the rx packet count for the interface
remains at 0!

In case it matters: I am using slakware 2.0.36, with IPIP compiled into the
kernel.

Any ideas?
