new kernels

Hi All
Is there something like a stable 2.2.x kernel with the ax25 utils now ?, for use
with redhat 6.0
As far as I know ( which is'nt a lot !), the 2.0.x kenels used exponential
timers, this being the biggest
problem with kernel routing if the path between two stations was a bit variable.
Do the 2.2.x kernels allow for linear timers to be used ?
If I have confused anyone as usual , I'm refering to the retry timer.
