Steven,
You will want to also install the ax25-utils-devel rpm. Make sure the rpm you
are using is from the libc6/i386 directory.  Next make a directory /etc/ax25
since you don't have one.  Then, copy and modify the example configuration
files, found in the docs of the package, to the /etc/ax25 directory. A simple
"rpm -qld ax25-utils" will give a listing of doc files that are in the package.
 I, pesonally, have not been able to get various apps to compile with the 2.2.x
series of kernels, such as dptnt and fbb, so sticking with 5.2 will be your
best bet for now.
