My interest in this is for my own benefit primarily, and for a few software
simulation projects I have waiting in the wings. Modems simply cannot help
me with software simulation. Besides, it costs me nothing to write this in
software. It costs me money for modem chips (no matter how little).

I'm already working with the upper layer networking protocols for my
project, and am nearing completion. Now, I need to specify lower layers
(two separate standards documents).

This is way, way, way too expensive/complicated for what I need (the bulk of
the expense comes from the PAL/GAL chip and the SRAM).

Also resources I do not have.

ATM Networking over an amateur radio link. The Layer 2 specification is
called ARNI, and it's still a work in progress. Layer 1 specs will be
available for 1200bps definately, but I'm going to try and bump that up a
little bit (hence the software simulation, and hence my need for 1200bps
AFSK references -- I need something to benchmark the simulations with!).

I'll try to look for that ax25.txt file. It should be floating out there
somewhere. Thanks for the lead -- it's greatly appreciated!!
