Hello,
others may confirm but, I guess if in the file /etc/securetty you have
some entries like:
ttyS0
ttyS1
ttyS2
ttyS4
root is allowed to login form those lines, if you remove them root will
not log in from there any more ...
for the ethernet use ttyp0 ... ttypN N={0,1,..;n}
