I have Suse 6.1 running on a Compaq Armada 1570 and Armada 4131T
Both fully functional (i.e. sound, x-11(kde), TCP/IP (using 3COM 589 B/C/D)
modem etc...
(multiboot using LILO -> win95 and Linux)

Remark when using LILO:
Compaq and some others I presume have a small partition reserved for the
setup.
Do not erase or delete that partition. In LILO make that partition bootable
and call it for
example setup.

                Subject: Notebook and Linux/AX25.....

                Hello all!

Sorry for this perhaps somewhat off-topic question but I'll
give it a go anyway ;-)

I want to buy a notebook, but it must be able to run Linux
(preferably SuSE 6.2). Anyone out there that can tell me
something about the possibillities and impossibillities
or perhaps redirect me to the right news-group?

My first choice would be a Gateway Solo 2500 PII-366 or
                a Packard-Bell 4014 PII-400 anyone knows if these might
work or that I should go with some other make?

Thanks for any help in advance.

                Bye!

                Richard PA3GWH
