Hi,
I did some hacking on Mirko dg2fer�s ax25-config utility to work with
the current kernels. I cannot test it properly here, because my packet
hardware does not work currently. I would appreciate any feedback.
* WARNING - WARNING - WARNING
This script does *overwrite* your existing configuration in /etc/ax25/,
such as axports,rsports,nrports,ax25d.conf,axspawn.conf.
Please back it up before playing with it.
It is currently beta software, so it can screw up your configuration.
(At least your ax25 configuration)
This is NOT for newbies until it is sufficient stable.
Experienced hams are strongly invited to test it.

What is ax25-config?
ax25-config is a little shellscript, simplifying the configuration
of linux� ax25 subsystem. It currently supports kiss, 6pack, baycom
serial and parallel modems.
It offers a simple dialog-based (similar to make menuconfig) interface.
It supports German and English language
Current limitations:
Supports only one device.
No scc cards (because of the above limitation).
No soundcards yet (no experience with them).
Scripts must be installed into /etc/ax25.
The "dialog" package has to be installed.
Installation:
Currently somewhat complicated:
It will untar in an directory "ax25-config-0.1.1", change
to that directory and copy its contents to /etc/ax25/:
tar xzf ax25-config-0.1.1-hp1
cd ax25-config-0.1.1
cp -a . /etc/ax25/
cd /etc/ax25
./ax25-config
(everything as root)
