Probably not the answer you were looking for, but, my 2 cents worth:
The trivial answer is to configure the tool you use to read the message to
ignore that header.
An example:
#~/.elm/elmrc
# what headers I DON'T want to see, ever.
weedout = "X-UIDL:" "*end-of-user-headers*"
