Hi guys!

I have a problem with a baycom modem of the local radio club, which is not
working at all under Linux....
The modem hardware is ok, and so are the serial ports of the computers (I
have tried it on 2 different PCs to make sure).
I tried it here at my home also, where I run Linux 2.2.13 (libc5), based on
a Slackware 4.0 distribution, and it works just fine, just plugged into the
serial port and it worked ok at the first try (I also own a baycom modem
here so I didn't need to re-config the kernel).

I have only few clues to understand WHAT is not working well....
Let's begin with PC configuration:
clones i486DX4/100, 24MB RAM
Linux 2.0.37 and 2.0.38 (now 2x 2.0.38), based on Slackware (3.4?) with
several "manual" updates of packages
ax25-utils 2.1.42a
AX-25 support available as modules on the first computer and built-in in
the kernel in the second one (just to try something different :) )
axports and other config files copied from my home pc (and working ok)

After setting up the modem with sethdlc (all ok) I try "call".
The program runs fine, but I get no TX on the baycom; a RS-232 Analyzer
shows no baycom activity on the serial port (so it's not a baycom hardware
problem); using "listen" produces no output, even on busy channels.
I can't understand what's the problem, here at home I had no problem at
all.... please help me if you have any kind of suggestion or solution....

Thanks very much in advance!
Ciao,
