'setterm -blank [n]' 0 <= n <= 60 n = time until blank (in minutes) 0
disables blanking.

I usually run JNOS for weeks without any problems (and if I do reboot,
it isn't because JNOS misbehaved or the kernel locked up). Debian
potato, kernel 2.0.38, 40 MB ram, P-100.
