I'm new to linux and ax25. I installed redhat 6.0 with kernel 2.2.13. I have
a kernel with the modules ax25 (without DAMA) an mkiss.
I have succesfully compiled and installed libax25 + tools + apps. I use term
(the terminal under DOS) to set the tnc in kiss mode with the command <ESC>
JHOST 1.
Then I reboot linux. Use minicom to set the serial port ttyS1 in 9600 baud
with no handshaking. I use <CTRL-A> Q to exit minicom.
in axports I have defined two ports (it is a ten port tnc)
port0 NL1ABL-0 .... (with a packetsize of 255)
port1 NL1ABL-1 .... (with a packetsize of 255)
Then I run the commands:
insmod ax25
insmod mkiss
mkiss /dev/ttyS1 /dev/ptyq0 /dev/ptyq1
kissattach /dev/ttyq0 port0 44.1.1.1
kissattach /dev/ttyq1 port1 44.1.1.1
it als goes well, and linux reports it has two ax ports
then i use
call port1 NL3LEK
which i'm sure exists in my environment
it only says trying....
and i see no activity on the tnc
Maybe someone with the same tnc21s from symek can give me some config
scripts??
I'm getting desperate....
