You're thinking about it wrong. Coupled with a FPGA and custom RF parts
you could have a preety advanced wireless routing and spread spectrum test
bed.
It could make for some preety intresting stuff.
I think there was talk of someone potentally selling the lart with io kit
(fpga, etc) for something like $400-$500..
There is the minipleb and uclinux-simm which are more consertive too..
