Okay, that makes sense. OTOH, I believe most of these need full
duplex capability which IIRC you cannot do on a Z8530 without at
least one clock (the rx one) provided by the MODEM. I need to re-
read the manual to be sure, though. In this case the DDI only needs
to tell the transmit clock. Basicly, that's what we have now for the
Z8530-in-DPLL-mode case: the DPLL has a wide range to lock (you can
initialize the BRG for 9600 baud and it still locks on 1200 baud).

In the special satellite case a differen MAC scheme would be required
anyway... How about making it plugable?
