Well, I'll know a bit more when someone can visit the site and reboot the box.
Checked things out on the clone box here in the shack and all appeared OK apart
from arp not liking an aliased interface so uploaded and basically lost it!!
Due to finger trouble I managed to totally drop the box (don't try and
use a shell script to restart ax25 whilst using an ax25 connection - the script
gets terminated when the interface disappears!!!)
Think I'll wait on 2.0 behaviour appearing in 2.2...
