On 28-Feb-00 lap wrote (concerning how to config ax25 modules at redhat 6.1):

Do a "depmod -a" once to see if all the module dependencies are ok and then use
"modprobe" instead of insmod. If you are using kernel 2.2.x you can enable the kernel
module loader and don't have to worry about insmod or modprobe any longer.
