I dont know of a setp by step, however it very easy to setup.
You need a kernel with support for;
ax25 and or netrom, i would also advise mkiss support as well.
You will need z8530drv-utils-3.0-1.dl1bke.tar.gz
untar them cd to z8530drv-utils type;
make install
cd /etc
cp z8530drv.conf.ex z8530drv.conf
edit z8530drv.conf to suit your needs.
add scc ports to /etc/ax25/axports
sccinit to initalise the driver.
add IP routing with route and you should be set.
