You most likely have 'named' running on your system.  The IP's you see are
probably the dns root servers.  do a 'nslookup' on the ip addresses and
see if they resolve to [a..i].root-servers.net.  You can also verify the
IP's by looking at the 'named.root' or 'named.cache' file which contains a
list of the root servers.
