I have an SB16 card that worked under DOS. Just put it in my Suse 6.3
machine to use on packet. It loads sound, uart401, soundlow, soundcore
successfully with insmod. When I do a "modprobe sb io 220 irq 5 dma 1" the
command compeletes silently, but doesnt appear to do anything. "lsmod"
shows the 4 modules I listed but no "sb".
If instead I try "insmod sb io 0x220 irq 5 dma 1 " I get:
/lib/modules/2.2.13/misc/sb.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
And /var/log/messages says:
Apr 23 22:21:25 suse1 kernel: Soundblaster audio driver Copyright (C) by
Hannu Savolainen 1993-1996
Apr 23 22:21:25 suse1 kernel: sb_card: I/O, IRQ, and DMA are mandatory.
Why doesnt it accept the parameters as stated? What is really wrong?
Thanks. -pat
