Version 1.26 of LNXFORWARD is now available. Apart from the glibc/kernel 2.2 support, there are quite a few small bug fixes. What is LNXFORWARD? Lnxforward is a suite of programs that performs message forwarding to or from FBB or compatible systems. Its features include: a) Compressed forwarding b) Message filtering, holding, and reviewing c) The ability to act as a hub, forwarding to any number of BBS's d) An interface to Hessu's mailgw system, allowing the use of smtp/nntp/pop3 mail and news readers such as Outlook, Eudora, Elm, Forte etc for messages and bulletins. e) Selection and control of message destinations f) Automatic HTML conversion of messages - lets you use a browser such as IE or Netscape for reading and posting both messages and bulletins. g) Support for servers such as REQFIL and REQDIR h) A single-user satellite interface, generating and processing satellite PFH files for individual messages up/down from the satellite(s). i) A single user mode, whereby a system that is NOT a BBS may connect and download messages from another BBS. The downloaded messages may comprise either the users own messages or a list heard from an unproto broadcast. Messages downloaded this way may be read, web-viewed, or forwarded just like any other message. j) Full bid checking k) Scripting facility for connect strings l) Runs natively - does not need to run FBB or xNOS system. m) Uses standard kernel based AX-25 facilities, utilising AX25, Netrom, or Rose connects It is available for anonymous ftp from ftp://ictoan.apana.org.au, or (soon) at http://www.djb.org.uk/
