Delphi for Linux should be available later this year. I have requested to join
the beta program, but they haven't gotten back to me with an NDA yet. From what
I've read, Delphi for Linux (code name Kylix) will use the QT libraries, so it
will mesh well with KDE. Not sure yet if Kylix will use QT 2.0+ or the 1.4x
series at first.

I'd suggest writing it in Delphi/Win32, with the idea of porting it when the
Linux version becomes available. Do Delphi apps currently run under Wine?
