Dear Linux Hams,

I just tried to install my old baycom ser12 modem.
I read all about it, but I found the HOWTO's
Slakware delivers are somewhat out of date.

So I was glad to see the question and the answer
to KE2LJ-1's question.

I down-loaded the axtools 0.0.6, compiled the
kernel (2.2.13) with the option needed.

Everything works fine, regarding insmod'ding the
hdlcdrv and baycom_ser_fdx modules. But I
find no /dev/bc0 (as described in my /etc/axports file).
So sethdlc complains about not being able to open the
port bc0.

here is what I did

/etc/axports contains
bc0 DH1AO 1200 236 3 70cm 1K2

setserial /dev/ttyS1 uart none
modeprobe hdlcdrv
insmod baycom_ser_fdx mode="ser12*" iobase=0x2f8 irq=3

now a bc0 should be visible ( am I wrong?)
I even did a mknod bc0 c 51 0 (see /usr/src/linux/Documentation/devices.txt)

but nothing helps.

Of course I am doing something stupid but I don't know what's wrong.
Perhaps some of you can point me in the right direction. Any help
is greatly appreciated. If possible do a
cc to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

thanks for reading

Peter DH1AO
