Rick, I own 2 APC Smart UPS v/s 4400 models with this same cable.
Noticing the thread (linux-hams) I can tell you now that this cable
interface works only
under Windows NT4.0 but MAY be convertable ... don't know for sure.
This "special cable" is nothing more that a standard DB9 null-modem
cable!
(leave it to APC to say it's special) - Hope this helps ... Also have the
diagrams if needed
as units we're purchased new here.
