To give you a push in the right direction :

Take a look at the SWAT documentation... It's a GUI for samba, an looks an
awful lot easier to configure..
You have to open a port in your system for it, in /etc/services &
/etc/initd.conf

This is not really secure, but for configurations sake it will be ok....

With it you probably can figure out a lot more !
