You should be able to change it in node.conf, man node.conf says you can.

ax25d.conf also has paramters, i dont know which one overrides the other or
even if they are applicable here.
I can set the disconnect time in node.conf AFAIK.
On another note, ping-pong servers have telnet access, why not simply use
telnet and do away with all the ax25 hassel, or does your area not have
decent routing.??
