Hi,
I've been away from the packet scene for a few years -- in fact, so has
everyone in the region. I think I may be the only semi-active packet
station in Eastern TN -- and I'm taking liberties with the expression
'semi-active'
There are a couple of RACES based nodes in the area that may be used
during non-emergencies. Right now, we're pretty much isolated from the
rest of the packet network. If I'm gonna re-connect, it's gonna have to
be via an ax.25 tunnel via the internet. I've got the software, and
probably enough info to get the nuts and bolts of the thing running -- but
have no idea the customs of using/connecting via a tunnel. Where can I
find a listing of the gateways, how do I arrange to be connected, etc.
Anyone out there can offer assistance?
The internet just killed the packet activity in this area. Since I've got
all these linux computers, I'm connected to the internet for long periods
of time every day, seems like a waste *not* to at least try to hook
something up...
Thanks...
