I have a strange problem with my standard PS2 mouse and Suse 6.0. I install
the mouse the first time and it is recognised by SaX and runs fine. However
after any subseguent restarts of the system the mouse refuses to work. I
have tried to reconfigure the mouse using SaX and XF86setup and XFreesetup
ut it refuses to work. The error coming up on the console is 'mouse
operation not supported by the device'. I have checked the files and using
the little bit of knowledge that I have everything appears to be in order
(but then what do I know?). I would appreciate any advice that anybody
could give me as I am starting to lose heart!!
Many thanks
Ian Webster

It sounds like you need to set up the default gateway to that your Linux
box can see the world outside your campus.
On my campus Linux box, I have
route add default gw {GATEWAY_IP_#}
in my system startup scripts, and it works just fine. If you don't know
the gateway's IP #, you'll need to get it from the network administrators
at your campus.

I would say about a gigabyte would be more then enuf. I just bought a
10gb hard drive from staples for 170$. It's hard to find hard drives
less then 6.4gb anymore. On that hard drive I put a 2gb partition for
Linux and did a full RH5.0 install, etscape, kde, wordperfect, etc adn
still have a lot of space left over.
