Think its a NCR 73C710 on Board like my Prosignia and Deskpro/M have
too.
There is a basic driver called SIM710, that _should_ work.
The standard NCR710 driver works with PCI cards only.
I tried with SuSe 6.3 but failed.
53c710 was detected but I wasn't able to submit the irq argument.
The maintainer has a page also try search the web for 'sim710'.
There is a bootfloppy image for RH for download there as well.

Folks,
I'm led to believe that if power is removed from an ATX mainboard (and some
experience of this), that they will not restart when mains power is
reapplied. This obviously has impact on the usage of a UPS with a server
system, and negates much of the point of using a UPS.
Two questions:
1. Are there any mainboards where the PC will restart after power loss
automatically (through a BIOS tweak)?
2. Are there any hardware mods that will force the reapplication of power to
the mainboard (i.e. cutting the odd wire etc.).
TIA

Hello:
I've heard that is possible to install more than two isdn cards in linux.
I have a PC with 2 isdn Asuscom compatible cards, I have configured with the
isapnp tools both cards and the linux recognize it. The problem is that when
configuring i4l I dont know how to tell i4l that it has 2 isdn cards and
only recognize one.
Can somebody help me?

Following one of the mentioned links I reached
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/drivers/linux/released
where I found a patch for kernel 2.2.13 so that the ID for this quite new
controller is recognized. This patch also fits into older kernels im my case
2.2.12 which also is the standard kernel for RedHat 6.1.

Hi,
I'm working on Rh6.1 with UDMA66(Quantum 15G)

But I have another problem. If I change H.D. to 2Gbyte(I think it is DMA 33),I
just can see 64M ram even though I add command (append = " mem=512M" ) in
lilo.confg.

hi,
when benchmarking my harddisks with : hdparm -t /dev/hda or /dev/hdc
the results is 3.76 seconds to transfer 64MB, so 17.02 MB/sec.
can anyone tell me if it is a standard value for a supposed udma 66.
i'm running an asus K7M, athlon 500MHz, ide chipset is "amd 751".

Thanks for the advice,
I noticed that it is a ISA Realtek 8019 NIC, NE2000 compatable, and it isn't
the same card as the other one
I have upgraded to RedHat 6.2, but still doesn't show up card with
ifconfig -a.
On www.redhat.nl I noticed that NE2000 cards need the ne module, does that
mean I have to load it before Linux is able to recognize it ?
I saw in on the internet in a example file that I can load the module by
inserting something like
alias eth1 ne option ne io=0x300 irq=3
in /etc/conf.modules.
But how do I find out the irq and io adress of the card ? I think it is like
above as I am running Win nt as well, but I am not sure. Is there a wasy to
find this out with Linux ? (or to reset the irq's like you say ?)

The stock kernel, no. With patch, yes. Is this your only drive? I am
using my UDMA66 controller with my cdrom ATM, but have to tell the
kernel where it is:
ide2=0xcc00,0xd002
I got this info from 'lspci'. See:

Hi,
I believe my motherboard is gone. On boot there is no video
and bios does not boot. The screen is blank. I tested ram and
its good. I removed all cards except the video and it does the
same thing - no video, no boot, no bios report - no signal from
video to the monitor.
I think there might have been a short on some PCI fingers. I
have two ethernet cards in this motherboard and I removed one.
When I removed the extra lan card the monitor was flakey on
reboot. It flashed small blocks of color randomly all over the
monitor. I re-inserted the card and it booted properly. I
removed it again and rebooted and the monitor put up random
colors all over the computer. I did this a few times trying to
get the computer to boot with just one lan card. It finally did
a few times but then went dead i.e. no signal to the monitor from
bios or anything else. Beeping started. I removed all cards and
cables to drives except the video. I expected that I should at
least see the bios boot and test ram - nothing the monitor no
receives no signal. I suspected the video card so put in a known
good card but got the same thing - no signal. When I boot I get
lots of beeps from the computer. If I put in the floppy cable I
get less beeps. Note the mouse and keyboard are in also. If I
boot with the mouse and keyboard out I still get beeps and no
video. So I suspect the motherboard is bad. I tested the cpu in
another motherboard and its good. The question is who is putting
up the beeps? If the motherboard is bad and bios cannot even
scan the system and put up its report who is beeping? I also
tested the monitor on another computer and its good.

Not so. Windows likes to have a driver for even the most standard
