I thought Linksys was the best. I have it works as the best as a NIC can be
from RH5.2 to 6.2, and SuSE 7.0. I have a PCI and a PCMCIA; they both work
great.

I have a server with AIC-7896 on the motherboard and plan to use the RAID
upgrade card ARO-1130U2 (yes, my motherboard has the socket for it).
Adaptec doesn't specify Linux in compatibility list with this product.
Did somebody use the ARO-1130U2 with RedHat Linux 6.2 (or 7.0)?
Will I need any additional drivers for it?
Is possible monitor the RAID from Linux, when the system is in production?

My system: RedHat Linux 6.2, 2 x P3 550Mhz/512, 1GB ECC RAM, 2 x 18GB UW2

Any suggestion welcome.

Thanks

So what do you need? Besides a miracle.
Guns. Lots of guns.

hello there,
i recently purchased the lexmark z42 very cheap. but unfortunately i forgot
to look for the linux support. there is none, as i found out not very later
:)
now my question: i have heard that there were inofficial drivers around on
the net. although i searched for them i couldn't retrieve anything like
that. so does anybody out there know anything about it?
thank you very much.

I did a fresh install of slack 7.1. I didn't install X at all. I got
X4.0.1 from the slackware-current. Installed it. Then I installed the
Nvidia kernel and the GLX drivers accoring to www.tomshardware.com's
guide. I used the 0.95 drivers. I check and the NVdriver is loaded in
/sbin/lsmod. I configured XF86Config in /etc/X11. Rebooted and startx.
I got errors. I remade the drivers from their folders then startx.
The screen blinked a few times. I got some green and blue lines across
the screen. The gui showed up. I got the gray and black screen that
you get when kde starts up. i could see a window in the bottom righ
corner. But the computer was locked. I shut it off (ctrl+alt+backspace
wouldn't even work). Rebooted into linux and startx. Nothing but an
error. I coped the /var/log file for x. I will post it next. I know I
followed the instructions on tomshardware.com exactly right. I renamed
the files that needed to be renamed. I can't think of anything else to
do. Can you guys help. THanks.

here is the log: I have tried to see what I can do to fix it. When I
made the kernel driver I didn't get any errors. When I made the glx
driver it said that /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so was not found and that it
would skip it. I also get this message everytime the computer gets
boots. Here is the file:

maybe it's just distro differences, as I'm not quite sure of all the little
specifics, but isn't it ttyS1 and not ttys1?

Because the cdrecord software, which is THE software for burning CDs
interfaces to the drive via scsi commands. Since an ide drive can be
made to obey scsi commands via the ide-scsi interface, this is not a
problem, but it must be set up or cdrecord cannot be used.

does /sbin/lsmod show the NVdriver module loaded?

So what do you need? Besides a miracle.
Guns. Lots of guns.

Subject: Netgear FA310TX: making manual settings work
Date: Mon, 01 Jan 2001 19:41:55 GMT

Hi all,

I have a Netgear FA310TX (rev. D2) NIC. I want to run it in
10BaseT full-duplex mode, but I can't seem to make it do so.
Passing the options at the command-line when loaded as a module
don't work, nor do passing them at boottime when compiled into
the kernel.

I have it plugged into a 10/100 switch (Netgear FS105), which I
figure it's using to determine it's settings (it only runs in
100BaseTx full-duplex mode). I am also using the [new] DEC tulip
driver in the 2.2.18 kernel tree.

Can I do this without having to alter the driver code? I don't
know what I am doing when it comes to hardware drivers.

TIA,

Greg
