Where did you get a dual athlon board from? I assume that you have a
beta because the the Thunder K7 hasn't been released yet, neither has
the desktop Palamino's which are required for MP operation.

The last I heard, there were no Linux drivers for that card. AFAIK, the
only internal DSL modem with Linux drivers is the Diamond 1MM. (I've
got links to the driver at
http://www.rodsbooks.com/network/network-dsl.html, but be aware that
I've never used this product, so I can't vouch for its utility on a
first-hand basis.) You have four choices:
1) Don't use DSL from Linux.
2) Write your own drivers. (A search on Google turns up hits of others
who may be interested in doing the same.)
3) Put the modem into some junky old 486 or early Pentium, load Windows
on it, and use that box as a dedicated router.
4) Replace the modem with an external Ethernet-based modem. (Most
external USB-based DSL modems also don't work, although I know of at
least one model with drivers.) You can probably buy on eBay, then
sell the old one on eBay, for a low net cost.

Look, I have no idea where your vitriol for Linux comes from, and I really
don't care. But I'm really sick of it. If you cannot understand that
people use whatever works best for a given set of needs/limitations, then
you are the one with a limited intellect. If you can't make constructive
posts (and I have yet to see one from you), then, please, keep your idiocy
to yourself.
Oh yeah, *plonk*.

Hi all,
I'm thinking of buying a webcam for my RedHat 7.1 system.
At this point I don't have a particular brand/type in mind, so who can
share his/her experience with me on what webcam is the best buy for a
RedHat 7.1 system?
Thanks in advance,
max

Hi,
I'm extending a PCI camera driver that was developed for kernel 2.2.5, on
kernel 2.2.16-22 (RedHat 7); however the PCI include files have been
re-organised, esp as regards the pci_dev structure (<linux/pci.h> vs.
<pci/pci.h>, which does pci_find_device() return?).
Can anyone point me to a readable summary of the changes in the PCI
interface between these two kernel releases?
I have looked at the changelogs etc. at linuxkernel.org, and searched
elsewehere, but have not managed to find anything that approaches the PCI
interface as a whole in the above context. (I apologise if I have missed an
obvious FAQ.)
TIA,
adam
