For libata and submitted patches, how is copyright dealt with? Based on some googling, it sounds like each project decides on its own policy of whether ownership is transfered to the maintainer, stays with the submitter, or does something else.
This isn't a question of licensing; it's just a question of how copyright and patches work for libata and linux.
